Privacy Policy

This notice explains how Markention Dijital Pazarlama San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. (“markention”) processes your personal data when you visit our website, contact us or use our tools, under Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK). Your data is collected partly by automated means (cookies, browser storage, server logs) and through forms.

The tables below are generated from the current list of services we use on the site: when a new tool is added, this page and the Cookie preferences page are updated at the same time; when a consent-based tool is added, you are asked for your cookie preference again. While you browse the site (no consent needed)

When you open our pages, the following is processed. We do not ask for consent for these; the site cannot work without them or they contain no personal data.

• Security and infrastructure: our site is served through Cloudflare; with every request, your IP address, browser information and the requested address are processed by Cloudflare for security and performance. Our server (Hostinger, Germany) keeps the requested address, browser information and time in its access logs.
• Cookieless counter: we count how many times each page is opened. It writes no cookies and keeps no IP address; it only stores totals by day, page, source and device type, and identifies no one.
• Your preferences: your cookie preference, display preference and the step you are on in a form stay only in your browser (see the full list); they are not sent to us.

If you consent (measurement and marketing)

Measurement and marketing tools run only after you make a choice in the cookie banner or on the Cookie preferences page and select “Accept”. If you select “Decline”, the related cookies are deleted from your browser immediately and measurement stops; from then on Google tags write no cookies and keep no identifiers. You can change your preference at any time.

• Measurement (currently: Google Analytics 4, Yandex Metrica, Visit journey (this site)): helps us understand which pages are read and which source and device a visit comes from. With this consent, if you also submit a form, the pages you viewed during the same visit (up to the last 15), the page and source you first arrived from, the visit duration and how many times you have come from this browser are added to your request; until the form is submitted this information stays only in your browser.
• Marketing (currently: Google Ads): to measure our ads and to show ads based on your interests.

Measurement and advertising tags are managed with Google Tag Manager; for a category you have not consented to, no cookie is written and no identifier is kept. Which tool writes which cookie, and for how long, is listed in the table on the Cookie preferences page.

When you write to us (forms, meetings, comments)

• Identity and contact: full name, email, phone; the website address and notes you share in the form; the date, time and topic you choose for a meeting.
• Information recorded with your request: which form you used, the page you submitted it from and the previous page; how you arrived at the site (the address of the referring site, campaign tags in the address, whether you came from an ad click; click identifiers themselves are not stored); the domain of your address if you used a business email; browser language and time zone; device type, browser, operating system and screen size; the approximate country reported by Cloudflare based on your connection. Your IP address is not stored in the request record.
• Confirmation email and notification: we confirm to the email address you entered that your request has reached us; the request is sent to our team by email (Google Workspace).
• Blog comments: your name, email address, your website if any and the comment text; WordPress also records your IP address and browser information with the comment. If you select “Remember me”, your name and email are stored only in your browser.

We use this information to respond to your request, plan a meeting and prepare a proposal; to match your request with earlier requests made with the same email address or phone; and to understand which channel requests come from (search engines, ads, social media, AI assistants, direct visits) so we can evaluate our marketing work accordingly.

AI visibility analysis

When you start an analysis, the domain you enter, the analysis result and the actions you take in the report (viewing, copying the link, PDF, AI links, meeting request) are recorded, as well as your email address if you ask for the report by email. To limit abuse, a salted hash of your IP address is kept for at most one day; your IP address itself is not stored. Report pages are closed to search engines; anyone who knows the link can open the report, and the report contains none of your personal data.

During the analysis our server sends service providers only public information about the site being analyzed: the site address to Microlink for the screenshot, the domain to Google’s icon service for the site icon, and the domain, title, description and part of the home page text to OpenAI for the company summary. Your email address, IP address or any other personal data is not sent to these services. If you ask for the report by email, we may write to you about the report results.

Legal grounds

• Forms, meetings and email: processing is directly related to the formation or performance of a contract (KVKK Art. 5/2-c) and our legitimate interest in responding to your request (Art. 5/2-f).
• Security, infrastructure and server logs: our legitimate interest (Art. 5/2-f).
• Measurement and marketing cookies and the visit journey: your explicit consent (Art. 5/1); you can withdraw your consent at any time.
• Retention obligations under commercial and tax legislation: expressly provided for by law (Art. 5/2-a).

Who we share data with

We share your data only to the extent the service requires, with the providers below and with authorities legally entitled to it; some providers are located outside Türkiye (country column). The list is generated from the current list of sources.

How long we keep data

We keep your data for as long as the purpose of processing continues; it is not deleted automatically after a fixed period. You can ask for it to be deleted or anonymized at any time (see “Your rights” below). The information you send through a form is kept in a single record together with the context and visit information recorded with the request, and is deleted together. The retention periods of cookies and browser storage are listed in the table on the Cookie preferences page; the IP hash kept for rate limiting is deleted automatically within one day at most.

Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, by applying to us you have the right to:

• learn whether your personal data is processed,
• request information about it if it has been processed,
• learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose,
• know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it has been transferred,
• request correction if it has been processed incompletely or incorrectly,
• request its deletion or destruction under the conditions of Article 7 of the Law,
• request that corrections, deletions and destructions be notified to the third parties to whom the data was transferred,
• object to a result against you arising from the analysis of the processed data exclusively by automated systems,
• claim compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing.

If your application is rejected, the response is found insufficient or no response is given in time, you may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Board within 30 days of learning of the response and in any case within 60 days of the application date (Art. 14).

How to exercise your rights

Under the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, you can submit your application:

• in writing to the address above (by hand or through a notary),
• from the email address you have previously given us and that is registered in our system, to info@markention.com.

The application must include your full name, a signature for written applications, your Turkish ID number (for foreign nationals, nationality and passport or ID number), your residential or business address for notifications, your email address and phone for notifications if any, and the subject of the request. We respond to your application free of charge within 30 days at the latest; if the response exceeds ten pages or has to be provided on a recording medium, the processing fee set out in the Communiqué may be charged.

Changes

We update this notice when we add a new tool or when the way we process data changes; the version and date in force are at the top of the page. When measurement or marketing tools change, you are asked for your cookie preference again.
